The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) on April 28 marked 40 years of operating its Airport Line, which runs every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to midnight each day and stops at all major Philadelphia International Airport terminals.
The airport is less than 30 minutes by train from Center City, said SEPTA officials in a press release.
The Airport Line connects to every Regional Rail line and dozens of bus routes, providing a convenient travel service for travelers. It also supports major conferences, sporting events and international gatherings by reducing the need for car travel, they said.
The line is also important for the night workers at the 24/7 airport. Approximately 26% of nighttime air transportation workers rely on public transit to get to or from work, SEPTA officials said.
