San Francisco agency to hike fares July 1

advertisement

Tomorrow, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency will raise fares. The ticket price hikes were approved in April when the agency was trying to overcome a $128.9 million budget deficit for fiscal-year 2010, which begins July 1.

The agency will raise base fares from $1.50 to $2 and monthly passes from $45 to $55. However, the Lifeline Fast Pass, an income-based ticket, will decrease from $35 to $30.
