Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) Feb. 18 chose a consortium comprising Alstom Transport and Singapore Technologies Electronics (STE) to supply electrical and mechanical railways systems for the remaining stages of the city’s driverless metro Circle Line.



The project’s value totals more than $365 million; Alstom’s share is $257 million. Combined with the first two stages, the project’s total value is $643 million with Alstom to see $454 million.



The third phase will add 15 miles to the Circle Line resulting in a 22-mile, fully automated line. Alstom is responsible for overall project management, system engineering and integration, supply of rolling stock, power supply system, trackwork, signaling equipment, and automatic train control and supervision.



STE is responsible for integration of signaling equipment, a control center, communication, platform screen doors, a station information system and access management system.
