Valley Metro develops mobile app for trip planning

Valley Metro last week introduced the "Ridekick" mobile application, which uses real-time data to assist Phoenix-area transit riders with planning trips and checking arrival times.

The app also features an interactive map that displays transit stops, current fares and a GPS system that helps riders seek out the best transit route available, Valley Metro officials said in a press release.

Riders will also be able to use the app to bookmark their favorite routes and locate park-and-rides.

"The time is right to provide a mobile trip planning solution to Valley Metro riders that’s informative and easy-to-use," said Nat Parker, chief executive officer of GlobeSherpa, the firm charged with developing the app.
