Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) will hold nine public meetings in October and November to review projects and programs in the current six-year improvement program (SYIP), and obtain feedback to help develop a SYIP for fiscal years 2013 to 2018. The programs include multi-modal initiatives for rail, transit and highways.

Representatives from various state transportation agencies, metropolitan planning organizations and planning district commissions will attend the meetings to provide information and highlight their transportation programs.

After the series of meetings, the board will accept public comments on the future SYIP until Dec. 12. The CTB plans to issue a draft SYIP next spring, then conduct public hearings before the program is finalized in June 2012.
