The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) recently launched a new mobile website to provide riders access to agency information via smart phones.
The new site replaces an earlier version launched a few years ago, WMATA officials said in a prepared statement.
The launch is “another progress point in our customer service action plan that has delivered dozens of improvements over the last year,” said General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Richard Sarles.
The new site features a WMATA trip planner; real-time train arrivals; the number of cars and destinations for 86 rail stations; a service-nearby function that enables riders to view rail and bus service near their current location; elevator status; rider alerts and advisories; and the ability to quickly call WMATA transit police.
