Operations department restructuring
Kansas City Southern named R. Michael Chapman senior vice president of operations for The Kansas City Southern Railway Co. (KCSR); John Foster will continue to serve as KCSR VP and chief mechanical officer, and report to Chapman. Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) Senior Director of Operations Manuel Zulaica will continue to be responsible for the transportation and mechanical departments. SVP of International Engineering Jerry Heavin now will head KCSR’s and KCSM’s engineering organizations, and Cesar Polack will remain KCSM’s director of engineering and report to Heavin. KCS also appointed Jeff Crandall assistant VP of international engineering, supporting KCSR and KCSM (he will report to Heavin); and Oliver Waltman, KCSR assistant chief engineer track. In addition, KCSM promoted Gloria Ballesteros to director network planning and customer service, reporting to Zulaica; and Jorge Martinez, to director revenue management, reporting to KCS SVP and Chief Information Officer Scott Arvidson.

He will continue in his current role at Progress Rail, which Caterpillar acquired earlier this year. … RailWorks Corp. named Mark Patterson and Michael Rothschild VP of operations and VP of pre-construction, respectively, for L.K. Comstock & Co. The Andersons Inc. named Michael Moschella director of operations, Rail Group.
