The American Public Transportation Association (APTA) announced yesterday its newly elected 2015-2016 Executive Committee and installed Valarie McCall to succeed Phillip Washington as chair.McCall is a member of the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Board of Trustees and serves as chief of government and international affairs for the city of Cleveland. She succeeds Washington, chief executive officer of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority. Washington is now the association's immediate past chair.Doran Barnes, the executive director of Foothill Transit of West Covina, Calif., was elected vice chair, and Kim Green, executive director of business development for GENFARE of Elk Grove Village, Ill., was elected secretary-treasurer.The new Executive Committee's members at large are: Nuria Fernandez, general manager of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, San Jose, Calif.; Jeffrey Nelson, GM of the Rock Island County Metropolitan Mass Transit District, Moline, Ill.; Freddie Fuller II, vice president of the Mid-Atlantic Transit & Rail Market Leader, CH2M Hill, Washington, D.C.; and Charles Wochele, managing partner and owner of TransitConsult LLC, Canandaigua, NY.The new committee was voted in by APTA members at the association's annual business meeting and election of officers on Oct. 3 in San Francisco.
