Belt Railway appoints Ferguson to engineering post

The Belt Railway Company of Chicago has promoted Mark Ferguson to chief engineer.

Ferguson has worked for the Belt for the past 20 years, holding various positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as manager of signal and communications, according to a company press release.

Belt Railway has 28 miles of mainline route and more than 300 miles of switching track, and dispatches more than 7,200 rail cars per day. The Belt is owned by BNSF Railway Co., CN, Canadian Pacific, CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern Railway and Union Pacific Railroad.
