The Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) in California earlier this week hired Heather McKillop as chief financial officer.
McKillop will oversee SMART’s financial management, including day-to-day accounting, budget, payroll and financial management.
Prior to joining SMART, McKillop was CFO and assistant general manager of finance and administration for the Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD). Click here to read a RTD question-and-answer session with McKillop about her time at agency.
Prior to working for the RTD, McKillop was the deputy executive director for the Colorado Department of Revenue.
McKillop will succeed Erin McGrath, who earlier this year announced her departure from SMART to spend more time with her family and pursue other opportunities, SMART officials said in a press release.
