The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) has named Kristina Brevard to the newly created position of vice president of strategic planning and development.Brevard most recently served as DCTA's vice president of marketing and communications. In her new role, she will oversee long-range service planning, business development and legislative affairs, DCTA officials said in a press release.Brevard's knowledge of transportation and past experience in business development "will allow her to move DCTA forward through development and expansion, helping to improve mobility solutions" in Denton County, Texas, said DCTA President Jim Cline.With Brevard's transition, DCTA is seeking a new VP of communications and customer programs. The new position differs from Brevard previous role. In addition to planning, directing, managing and overseeing all activities and programs of DCTA’s marketing and communications department, the position will oversee the agency’s customer service program.
Meanwhile, Atlanta BeltLine Inc. (ABI) has hired Benjamin Limmer as transportation director, a role that leads the planning, programming and project delivery for the Atlanta BeltLine’s transit and street improvement program. In this capacity, Limmer will lead the effort to implement the 22-mile Atlanta BeltLine transit loop with the Atlanta Streetcar crosstown network, as well as the implementation of a 46-mile streetscape program and accompanying elements of the Connect Atlanta Transportation Plan.
Prior to joining ABI, Limmer served as planning manager for Valley Metro in Phoenix, Ariz.
