The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers yesterday announced a slate of new officers and executive committee members for 2023.
Kathy Bathurst of CSX will serve as president, Matt O'Kray of Transtar as first vice president and Steve Blinn of Norfolk Southern Railway as second VP, MARS officials said in a press release.
New members of the executive committee include Peggy Emeis of Watco Cos.; Doug Grewe of Packaging Corp. of America; Brian Jonaitis of The Indiana Rail Road Co.; and Grant Keyser of TrinityRail.
MARS leadership will be supported by incoming executive director Tracy Stein, who has been in the same role with the North American Rail Shippers Association for about a year. She succeeds William Schauer, who is retiring after 15 years, MARS officials said.
Stein is also executive director of the Pacific Northwest Association of Rail Shippers.
The MARS summer meeting is scheduled for July 10 and 11 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
