Patriot Rail Co. LLC yesterday announced the appointment of Sam Sexhus as president and chief operating officer.
Sexhus will be responsible for supporting the company’s strategic, operational and growth objectives. His focus will be on organic and inorganic growth, productivity improvements and economic development.
Sexhus has more than 25 years of rail industry experience. Most recently, he was vice president of strategy and technology at BNSF Railway Co., where led the Class I's initiative to improve cost structure. He also previously served as BNSF's VP of transportation and VP of service design and performance.
"Patriot Rail is experiencing tremendous growth, and Sam Sexhus' leadership will enable the company to further solidify our short-line railroad footprint in the U.S.," said Patriot Rail CEO John Fenton in a press release.
