Patriot Rail promotes Eyermann, assigns Marzec to VP post

Patriot Rail Corp. has promoted David Eyermann from vice president of operations to VP of planning and design, and appointed Dennis Marzec VP of field operations.

Eyermann now will be responsible for the company's operational strategy, system design, safety/compliance administration, capital program administration, and car and fleet management. His prior roles include senior VP and chief operating officer-Central Region for Watco Cos. L.L.C.,  regional VP for RailAmerica Inc.'s Lone Star Region, and a number of senior operating positions at RailTex.

Marzec will be responsible for all field operations, field safety, transportation, mechanical, engineering and performance improvement. He most recently was COO for the Southern California Regional Rail Authority/Metrolink. Marzec previously held various positions at the former Atchison, Topeka and Santa Railway and at Kansas City Southern Railway Co.

Eyermann and Marzec "both have solid track records of success in big league transportation venues directing complex operations," said Patriot Rail President and Chief Executive Officer John Fenton in a prepared statement. "[They] bring a world-class rail leadership perspective that adds great value to Patriot as we build our operational capabilities and market growth."

Patriot Rail owns 13 short lines operating 500 miles of track in 13 states.
