The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) has appointed Kristi App chief commercial officer (CCO).

App will lead commercial operations across Port NOLA's cargo, cruise and industrial real estate portfolios, with a focus on generating new revenue streams, expanding market reach and driving growth, Port NOLA officials said yesterday in a press release.

App has more than 20 years of experience in international trade, transportation and global logistics. She joins Port NOLA from J.W. Allen & Co. Inc., a freight forwarding, customers brokerage and global logistics provider. There, she most recently served as chief operating officer and previously held roles of vice president of business development and vice president of exports.

A widely recognized leader in the maritime industry, App in 2024 received the C. Alvin Bertel Award for her contributions to the Louisiana port community. Previously, she was VP of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America Inc. and is a commissioner on the Louisiana Board of International Commerce.

The New Orleans Public Belt Railroad serves Port NOLA and provides direct connections to all six Class Is.
