On June 24, Portec Rail Products Inc. board member Charles Hooten Jr. died. He was 77.

A Portec Rail director since 1998, Hooten also served on the board's audit and nominating committees.

"[Hooten] has been a valued member of our board since the inception of the company," said Portec Rail President and Chief Executive Officer John Cooper in a prepared statement. "His leadership will be missed."

Portec Rail supplies rail joints, anchors and spikes, and friction-management products and load-securement systems.
