After over 20 years of service to the Reading & Northern Railroad (RBMN), Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales Dan Gilchrist has announced his retirement, effective April 2.

As a result, Rian Nemeroff, Susan Ludwig and Jim Cerulli are assuming new responsibilities, RBMN officials said in a news release.

Gilchrist joined the rail industry in 1979 in a sales position at Conrail. After Conrail was sold in 1999, he joined RBMN. Since January 2000, Gilchrist has helped grow the regional’s business to the point that it now moves more than 34,000 carloads a year.

Nemeroff, currently VP of forest products, has been assigned additional duties and promoted to senior VP of merchandise marketing and sales. He joined RBMN five years ago after a career in the railroading and forest products business. Nemeroff previously served at Conrail, International Paper Co. and Scott Paper Co.

Ludwig has been promoted to VP of marketing and customer service. She joined RBMN in 2011 and most recently was VP of customer service. While managing the day-to-day operations of the customer service team, Ludwig has spent the past several years working with Gilchrist on building connections with customers.

Cerulli now will lead RBMN's industrial development projects. He joined the regional's operations department in 2015, was promoted to VP of coal marketing in January 2020 and became VP of business development in July 2020.

In addition, Lori Chinchar will serve as director of customer service and Daren Geschwindt will continue to serve as VP of distribution facilities.
