Rising Stars nomination deadline is Friday

Friday is the deadline to submit nominees for Progressive Railroading's sixth annual Rising Stars Awards program.

The magazine defines a Rising Star as an employee of the railroad industry who is under the age of 40 and who is making a positive difference in his or her company, department or team. Rising Stars are viewed as up-and-comers by their peers, colleagues, supervisors, clients or associates.

Nominees must be younger than 40 years old on Sept. 1 and currently work in the North American rail industry. Candidates must be available for an interview by Progressive Railroading staff and willing to supply a photo for publication.

To nominate a Rising Star, fill out the nomination survey and explain in detail how the nominee goes above and beyond expectations to make a difference in railroading.

Candidates will be considered for recognition based on qualities such as contributions to the rail industry, career achievements, demonstrated leadership, education or training, and professional association activity or community involvement.

The Rising Stars of 2018 will be honored July 22 at a recognition dinner at the W Lakeshore Hotel in Chicago.
