Santa Clara VTA names Tran general counsel

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's (VTA) board has named Evelynn Tran general counsel.

Since 2006, she has served in law-related roles at the agency, including senior assistant counsel, deputy general counsel and acting general counsel.

As deputy general counsel, Tran worked with VTA's executive team and its former general counsel to draft the agency's 2016 Measure B sales tax measure, which is expected to generate $6.3 billion for transportation improvement projects throughout Santa Clara County.

Tran also has managed the legal process involved with the real estate acquisitions and environmental review for the VTA's Bay Area Rapid Transit Silicon Valley project.

Before joining VTA, Tran worked for San Francisco Bay Area law firms, including McGrane Greenfield LLP, now known as Greenfield Draa & Harrington LLP.
