SeaPort Manatee in Tampa Bay, Florida, has hired Dan Fitz-Patrick as director of planning and project development.
Fitz-Patrick comes from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), where he spent seven years in roles including manager of FDOT’s Seaport Office and state seaport program coordinator. He facilitated state participation in more than 100 seaport infrastructure projects across Florida’s 14 active deepwater ports, port officials said in a press release.
Prior to that, Fitz-Patrick worked with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Florida Division of Emergency Management and Florida State University, where he taught urban planning. He has also been a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Standing Committee on Ports and Channels since 2017.
“Dan is swiftly assuming an integral role in establishing a solid foundation of sustained growth of SeaPort Manatee as the preferred global gateway for Southwest and Central Florida and beyond,” said SeaPort Manatee Executive Director Carlos Buqueras.
