Lisa Stabler now has assumed the post as president of the Transportation Technology Center Inc. (TTCI) in Pueblo, Colo. She succeeds Roy Allen, who retired. TTCI previously announced Stabler’s appointment in June.

She most recently was TTCI’s vice president of operations and training. Stabler previously served BNSF Railway Co. in various capacities, including assistant vice president of quality and reliability engineering, and was director of marketing, planning and administration for Delphi Corp.

“Lisa’s strong background in advancing new technologies makes her well equipped to lead the railroad industry’s cutting edge research and development efforts into the future,” said Association of American Railroads (AAR) President and Chief Executive Officer Ed Hamberger in a prepared statement.

TTCI also promoted Semih Kalay from VP of technology to senior VP. He will be responsible for the communication and train control business unit, as well as continue to manage the AAR’s Strategic Research Initiatives Program and provide support for the association's technical standard and inspection program.

“Under Semih’s direction, TTCI will continue to help railroads comply with the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008, which mandates PTC implementation across most of the nation’s rail lines by the end of 2015,” said Stabler.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Division of Transportation Investment Management is seeking a program and policy analyst–advanced/railroad specialist in the Railroads and Harbors Section to succeed Jim Tracey, who retired in June.

The analyst/specialist is responsible for providing railroad facilities, technical expertise and consultation to, and on behalf of, WisDOT for railroad property acquisition, track rehabilitation, track maintenance and construction, and other rail-related functions.
