The Transportation Institute at the University of Denver (DTI) has elected Linda Bauer Darr and Brad Skinner to its board, the institute announced Wednesday.

Darr is president of the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA). Prior to being named ASLRRA last year, Darr's career in transportation began in 1989 when she joined the American Trucking Association-North American Transportation Alliance, where she served as an advocate for the U.S. trucking industry. Darr also served stints as deputy assistant secretary for budget and programs at the U.S. Department of Transportation and president and chief executive officer of the American Moving & Storage Association.

Skinner has more than 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics. Currently, he is executive chairman of OmniTRAX, vice president of business development for Greenbrier Cos., and a member of Westway Group's board.

"We are very pleased to be welcoming representatives from the manufacturing and short line railroad industries onto the DTI Board," said William DeWitt III, executive director of the DTI. "Their knowledge and expertise in these sectors will provide greater perspective on the unique challenges facing our industry in each of these fields."
