Wabtec Corp. recently named Barry Anderson vice president and general manager of Schaefer Equipment Inc., which Wabtec acquired in October. He will succeed David Kostolansky, who retired after serving Schaefer Equipment for 29 years, most recently as chairman and chief executive officer.

Anderson joined Schaefer Equipment in 1999 as VP of manufacturing. In 2000, he was named VP and general manager of operations; earlier this year, Anderson was promoted to president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Schaefer Equipment, Anderson held various operations management positions with CCX, Edgewater Steel and Rotek.

Schaefer Equipment supplies forged brake rigging components for freight cars.
