Watco Transportation Services L.L.C. recently named Justin Rhodes general manager of the Arkansas Southern, Mississippi Southern and Vicksburg Southern railroads, and Jason Cathey, GM of the Louisiana Southern Railroad.

Rhodes succeeds Darrell Thompson, who recently was named operations zone manager in the Albany area for Watco’s western Australia rail team. Since joining Watco in 2005 as a conductor for the Mississippi Southern, Rhodes has served as an engineer for the Mississippi Southern, track inspector for the Mississippi Southern and Vicksburg Southern, and trainmaster for Mississippi Southern and Vicksburg Southern.

Cathey most recently was an operations manager at two Genesee & Wyoming Inc. locations. He previously was a senior trainmaster for RailAmerica Inc.’s San Joaquin Valley Railroad and served the Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroads in various capacities, including brakeman/conductor, engineer, road foreman of engines and terminal manager.
