BNSF installs Albanese, Ness as division GMs

BNSF Railway Co. has promoted Tom Albanese to general manager of the Powder River Division to succeed Sam Sexhus, who was promoted to regional vice president-North in December.

Most recently general director of transportation in San Bernardino, Calif., Albanese will report to Regional VP-Central Jeff Wright. Albanese began his BNSF career as a management trainee in 1994, and later served in various positions in Schaumburg, Ill.; Lafayette, La.; Barstow, Calif.; and Fort Worth, Texas.

Two weeks ago, BNSF also promoted Daryl Ness to GM of the Southwest Division to succeed Nate Murray, who assumed a different position in Fort Worth.

Most recently general director of transportation in Seattle, Ness will report to Regional VP-South Bob Lease. Ness began his career in 1978 as a switchman/brakeman, and later served as trainmaster and terminal superintendent.
