Lockheed Martin Corp. recently subcontracted BroadWare Technologies Inc. to provide the video surveillance and media integration components for a security system Lockheed is installing for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

BroadWare’s media integration platform collects, records, routes and manages live and archived surveillance video.

In August 2005, MTA awarded a $212 million contract to Lockheed to design and implement the Integrated Electronic Security System and Command, Communications and Control (IESS/C3) program, which will feature enhanced monitoring, surveillance, access control, intrusion detection and response capabilities. Lockheed also will install more than 1,000 cameras and 3,000 sensors throughout MTA’s system, as well as intelligent video and closed-circuit television systems.
