CN donates $1 million to Alberta business school

Canadian National Railway Co. recently donated $1 million to the University of Alberta's School of Business and Faculty of Law for U.S. Studies.

The college plans to use some of the funds to create a Faculty of Law CN Professorship in International Trade that will prepare graduate students for a career in studying U.S.-Canada trade relations. The rest of the donation will help underwrite research and public debate on the two countries' trade issues through the business school's Western Centre for Economic Research.

"Since 56 percent of CN’s revenue is generated from moving traffic in the U.S. or across the Canada-U.S. border, this program is an excellent fit for us," said CN Chairman David McLean in a prepared statement.
