CSXI hosts celebrations at terminals to thank truckers for fruitful business partnership

BNSF Railway Co. isn’t the only Class I honoring truck drivers this week. CSX Intermodal also is giving drivers a pat on the back during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week.

At CSXI terminals, workers are posting banners, and distributing food and gifts to truckers. During the past two days, the company has hosted cookouts for drivers at CSXI’s largest terminal in Bedford Park, Ill. and a Little Ferry, N.J., facility.

Last year, CSXI handled about 2.2 million containers and trailers at more than 40 terminals. The company relies on trucking firms to complete intermodal moves.

“Although our appreciation for truck drivers is felt year-round, we look forward to this formal opportunity to say thanks to them for a job well done,” said CSXI President Jim Hertwig in a prepared statement.
