On March 3, CSX Transportation named Kenneth Peifer senior vice president-labor relations.
A member of National Carriers Conference Committee, Peifer most recently served as vice president-labor relations.
He joined CSXT in 1992, after serving Southern Pacific Co. in labor relations since 1977. Peifer previously served in various capacities for the Western Pacific, and Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific railroads, and in operations for CSXT predecessors Baltimore & Ohio, and Chesapeake and Ohio railroads.
"[Peifer] has developed some of the most progressive labor policies in the industry, and has helped develop a labor-management foundation that will contribute significantly to our key goals of improved safety, service to our customers and financial performance," said Michael Ward, CSX Corp. chairman, president and chief executive officer, in a prepared statement.
