Calgary Transit has expanded public Wi-Fi to six additional CTrain stations within the downtown corridor, the agency announced yesterday.

The news follows success of the service at several other stations, agency officials said in a press release.

In December 2013, Calgary city officials awarded Shaw Communications Inc. a contract to provide public Wi-Fi at city-owned locations. Since the launch of the Wi-Fi program in 2014, hundreds of thousands of Calgary residents, customers and visitors have used the service at the city's facilities.

The most popular location is the City Hall CTrain Station, with more than 36,000 users connecting to the service each month, Calgary Transit officials said.
