Caltrain nears completion of Hillsdale Station project

On Monday, Caltrain opened a new northbound platform at Hillsdale Station — one of the agency’s busiest Baby Bullet express service stations.

Passengers now enter the platform via a new pedestrian crossing at the south end of the station. The crossing features pedestrian gates, warning lights and bells.

The new platform is part of a $4.2 million reconstruction project at the station. During the next few weeks, Caltrain will demolish the center platform and install a center-track fence. Scheduled to be complete by year’s end, the project also includes extending the southbound platform and constructing a pedestrian crossing at the station’s north end.
