Fenley joins KCS as AVP; Merritt joins Indiana Rail Road as VP

Kansas City Southern recently appointed Michael Fenley assistant vice president of business solutions. He will lead the Kansas City Southern Railway Co.’s Customer Solutions Center and advise Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. on customer service functions. Fenley will reports to KCS Executive VP of Sales and Marketing Patrick Ottensmeyer.

Fenley most recently was director of pricing and yield management for YRC Worldwide, where he has served the past 10 years. He previously held various business and sales strategy positions, and worked as a graduate instructor in corporate finance for the University of Missouri and business consultant for Ernst & Young.

Meanwhile, the Indiana Rail Road Co. named James Merritt Jr. VP of corporate affairs.

He most recently was president of Circle Financial Corp., an Indianapolis real estate investment and management firm he’s served the past 27 years. Merritt also is a member of Indiana’s state senate. He previously served as a congressional staff member in Washington, D.C., and worked on congressional campaigns.

A Class II, Indiana Rail Road operates a 500-mile system in Indiana and Illinois, including terminals in Chicago; Indianapolis and Terre Haute, Ind.; and Louisville, Ky.
