House Appropriations Committee approves $9 billion in FY2007 transportation funding

This week, the House Appropriations Committee approved its version of the fiscal-year 2007 transportation appropriations bill, according to the American Public Transportation Association.
The bill would provide a record-level $9 billion for transit programs — a 5.6 percent increase compared with FY2006 and $4 million more than the funding level authorized in the SAFETEA-LU bill.
