On July 15, the Las Vegas Monorail Co. will launch service on its four-mile system, which runs along the Las Vegas resort corridor, and connects nine major resort properties and the city’s convention center.

The $650 million privately funded system includes stations at MGM Grand, Bally’s/Paris, Flamingo/Caesar’s Palace, Harrah’s/Imperial Palace, the convention center, Las Vegas Hilton and the Sahara.

Projected to carry about 20 million passengers annually, the monorail will relieve traffic in and around the strip, according to Las Vegas Monorail.

During the first 60 days of service, the system will operate daily from 8 a.m. to midnight. Afterwards, it will operate from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Las Vegas Monorail is a non-profit corporation with a board appointed by Nevada’s governor. Transit Management Systems L.L.C. administers all monorail-related contracts for the company.
