Midwest shipper association elects 2009 officers

The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) recently elected Craig Longardner president for 2009. He is manager of materials and transportation for Steel Dynamics Inc.

MARS also elected Patrick Coseglia, national accounts manager for Norfolk Southern Corp. first vice president; and Randy Worth, vice president and general manager for Merchants Distribution Service, second vice president.

Headquartered in Chicago, MARS is one of the North American Rail Shippers Association’s five regional associations. MARS aims to provide an open forum for the discussion and resolution of rail transportation issues by bringing together railroads, shippers, receivers and rail industry suppliers.
