Yesterday, the National Gateway launched Facebook and Twitter pages. The social networking sites will ensure “supporters or interested citizens will have the ability to easily access important information about the project,” said Louis Renjel, vice president of strategic infrastructure initiatives for CSX Transportation — the driving force behind the gateway intermodal route initiative — in a prepared statement.
The National Gateway’s Twitter feed will provide timely updates on major construction developments and milestones, while its Facebook page will provide a narrative of the project’s progress, CSXT officials said.
The National Gateway is an $842 million public-private initiative aimed at establishing an intermodal route linking Mid-Atlantic ports with Midwestern markets.
