The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and New Jersey Transit will be part of a pilot program for emerging technologies designed to help transit agencies recover from the impacts of COVID-19.
Companies chosen through the Transit Innovation Partnership’s Transit Tech Lab will test their technologies over eight weeks, Transit Tech Lab officials said in a press release. Ten finalists were chosen out of 150 applicants to the COVID-19 Recovery and Environmental Sustainability Challenge, a global competition calling for tech to improve public transit safety and meet clean energy objectives.
The applications chosen use artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision and LiDAR.
The 2022 COVID-19 Recovery finalists are: Blyncsy, Salt Lake City; Clarifai, New York City; Invision AI Inc., Toronto; Quanergy Systems Inc., Sunnyvale, California; and Zensors Inc., San Francisco.
The Environmental Sustainability finalists are: GridMatrix, San Francisco; Microgrid Labs Inc., Boulder, Colorado; Runwise Inc., New York City; StormSensor, Seattle; and The Mobility House, Belmont, California.
