North Carolina DOT to close grade crossing

advertisement

On March 11, the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) plans to close a grade crossing near Statesville.

The department will redirect traffic to a nearby crossing, which was upgraded with signals and gates to improve safety and accommodate more motorists.

The Statesville crossing had been identified for closure as part of an area crossing study. NCDOT plans to reduce the number of redundant or low-volume crossings throughout the state. Since 1993, the department has closed more than 130 public crossings.
