NuBlu Energy constructing LNG plant in Louisiana

NuBlu Energy has begun construction of a natural gas liquefaction plant in Port Allen, La., that will serve rail and other industries, the company announced last week.

Located along the Mississippi River, the company's flagship facility is slated to be operational and producing liquefied natural gas (LNG) in second-quarter 2017, according to a NuBlu Energy press release.

The plant's capacity is being designed for 90,000 gallons per day, with an initial startup of 30,000 gallons per day. It will have a storage capacity of 100,000 gallons per day.

The facility will support the region's fueling applications for rail, marine, long-haul transportation, power generation, gas interruption, asphalt and other markets.

The facility also will offer a transfer system that will allow the loading of LNG transport trailers as well as ISO containers to meet the requirements of NuBlu's regional customer base, company officials said.
