On March 3, ShipGuide.com and Schedule Distribution Services Inc. (Skedz.com) announced they had partnered to create ShipGuide.com L.L.C.

Operator of ShipGuide since October 2000, MultiModal Applied Systems Inc. recently transferred the responsibilities of ShipGuide's operations to Skedz.com's management.

An integrated multi-modal scheduling and logistics-tool provider, Skedz.com now will manage ShipGuide's development, operations and data content.

"Our goal in this partnership is to integrate our data content over several transportation modes," said Skedz.com founder Gregg Grabijas in a prepared statement, adding that ShipGuide soon will enable customers to plan, book, track and audit shipments.

Launched in 1992, ShipGuide offers schedules for more than 100 ocean carriers and more than 800,000 worldwide routing options. Each month, more than 30,000 users visit the site, which is designed to improve the delivery of sailing-schedule and contact information to ocean transporters.
