Oklahoma DOT seeks input on state rail plan final draft

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking public comments on the latest draft of its 2026 State Rail Plan (SRP) in advance of the plan’s finalization.

The SRP enables ODOT to take inventory and usage of all rail lines; analyze rail-service goals and rail’s contribution to the state economy; review rail-safety improvement projects; assess potential infrastructure projects; and examine financing challenges. The plan addresses existing rail services in Oklahoma, both passenger and freight; identifies priority projects and helps position the state for federal funding processes. The plan was last updated in 2021, ODOT officials said in a press release.

Oklahoma residents and other stakeholders can view information about the SRP and complete an online comment form on ODOT’s Rail Plan website through June 15.
