Sound Transit’s board recently approved a resolution meeting final federal conditions for a $500 million full funding grant agreement to build Central Link light rail’s initial segment.

The board agreed to use tax revenues from five subareas only for the benefit of that subarea. Local revenues for Central Link are being taken only from North King County and South King Country subareas.

Sound Transit also agreed to neither seek nor accept more than the current $500 million in federal grants from the Federal Transit Administration to built the initial segment.
