The Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) recently named Beth deHamel executive director of the finance and administration department and chief executive officer, effective Jan. 5. She will succeed Dave Auxier, who will retire in late February after serving TriMet for 28 years, including six as chief financial officer.

As CFO, deHamel will oversee the agency's $750 million operating and capital budgets, enforce internal controls, forecast trends and make recommendations to maintain financial stability. She has more than 20 years of experience in municipal investment banking, including stints as vice president and manager for northwest public finance for Goldman Sachs & Co., head of Morgan Stanley's northwest municipal finance practice in Portland and co-head of banking for the Municipal Capital Markets group of BT Securities Corp.
