advertisement

Today, Union Pacific Railroad plans to begin increasing train speed through Stanton, Texas, from 40 mph to 60 mph.

The Class I expects to increase speed 5 mph each week until trains reach the new speed limit June 30.

UP has increased train speed through several communities — including Ennis, Sinton, Midland, Grand Saline and Abilene, Texas — after improving track and modifying grade-crossing signals.
