Carmanah Technologies: Blue flag protection lights for maintenance-free rail yard safety

Carmanah Technologies Corp. offers the OL2A, an obstruction light for blue flag protection that provides shockproof, waterproof and weatherproof protection — maintenance free for five-plus years, the company says. The OL2A has long-lasting batteries and LEDs to ensure "time isn’t wasted on replacements, letting workers do their jobs — and do them safely," the company says.

Carmanah has designed, developed, and distributed a variety of products focused on energy optimized LED solutions for infrastructure since 1996. The Aviation Obstruction business has provided aviation hazard marking, railway blue flag protection, and more in some of the harshest conditions worldwide.

“I have seen and used a lot of blue lights, and Carmanah’s are top of the line,” says Brian Sinram with Union Pacific Railroad, which has the OL2A in service in most of its U.S. rail yards. “Their lights work flawlessly through heat, rain, and freezing cold weather. They also take a beating, being lifted, lowered, and sometimes dropped — but they never quit working.”
