Western-Cullen-Hayes Inc.: Articulating Automatic Mechanical Blue Flag

A specialized product developed by Western-Cullen-Hayes to operate in conjunction with its HB series derails, the automatic mechanical blue flag is mechanically linked and responds to HB derail movement, eliminating the need for separate blue flag placement. The AAMBF incorporates a gear reduction box and a 360-degree articulating shaft for smooth operation, reducing damage to the unit if accidentally struck by rolling stock, the company says. The AAMBF is available with a blue light for nighttime visibility. Eighteen standard flag styles are available (including those specified by OSHA, FRA and the Canadian RTC), and the company can produce specialized flags to meet customer requirements. An accessory blue light is also available.
