The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) on Oct. 1 approved upgrades at rail crossings in Tuscarawas and Muskingum counties.
The Columbus & Ohio River Railroad (CUOH) will install flashing lights at gates with surface reconstruction at the South Lake Street grade crossing in Tuscarawas County by July 1, 2026, PUCO officials said in a press release. The project will be completed with $489,073 in federal funding.
Bottle manufacturer Owens Illinois Glass will install flashing lights at gates and a new surface at grade crossings at Pershing Road and Pine Street grade in Muskingum County by July 1, 2026. Federal funding will pay $750,260 to complete the projects, PUCO officials said.
