The Indiana Rail Road Co. (INRD) recently completed a project to improve its transload facility in Odon, Indiana.

The upgrades included a new 10-inch floor, a food grade rail-car dock and two truck docks.

Collectively, the enhancements support the safe handling and storage of weather-sensitive products such as particleboard, oriented strand board, plywood and southern yellow pine lumber, INRD officials said in a press release.

The Odon facility features 9,600 square feet of warehouse capacity and offers transloading services Monday through Friday, they said.

"The completion of the Odon transload facility allows us to offer a more comprehensive transloading solution to our customers," said Dewayne Swindall, INRD president and CEO. "We pride ourselves on providing a superior customer experience, and this upgrade is was critical to support that model."

The 250-mile INRD serves southwest Indiana and eastern Illinois, and connects to the North American rail network via gateways in Chicago, Indianapolis and Newton, Illinois.
