OmniTRAX Sand Holdings LLC has entered into a joint venture with Arrows UP LLC, an Illinois provider of bulk storage and transportation solutions, the companies announced yesterday. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The joint venture is a "natural extension" of OmniTRAX's logistics offerings, said Kevin Shuba, chief executive officer of OmniTRAX Inc., in a press release.

"There is significant market interest and an aligned OmniTRAX commitment to rolling out this solution,” he said.

OmniTRAX is particularly interested in commercializing the Arrows Up Jumbo Bin, which holds up to 25 tons of frac sand or ceramic material, replaces significant storage and transportation infrastructure, creates trucking and rail efficiencies across the supply chain, and eliminates the need for dust suppression equipment.

The bins also are designed to decrease product shrinkage by reducing the number of product transfers. They can be moved by standard transportation equipment, which enables customers to control costs.

OmniTRAX team will help Arrows Up "scale this business across new industries, geographies and commodities," said John Allegretti, the company's founder and CEO.

"Our collaboration will lead to productivity, safety and cost improvements for our customers and new growth opportunities for both Arrows Up and OmniTRAX,” he added.
