Patriot Rail Co. LLC's Louisiana & North West Railroad (LNW) recently welcomed a new tenant in Gibsland, Louisiana: Shale Support Holdings LLC.

A frac sand and logistics service provider to the oil and gas proppant market, Shale Support operates a terminal in Gibsland. The 24/7 facility can handle 100 rail cars and features on-site storage plus additional room for future storage.

LNW operates 62 miles of track from Gibsland to McNeil, Arkansas. Both the company's LNW and Temple & Central Texas Railway are well positioned for companies in the energy sector because they're located near the Haynesville Shale, as well as in range of a number of oil/gas industries and pipeline development projects, Patriot Rail officials said in a press release. Plus, the short lines provide a gateway to Mexico, they added.

"An important aspect of what makes Patriot Rail an attractive partner for energy sector companies is our capabilities to provide customized solutions to meet specific customer service demands and best-in-class service reliability," said Patriot Rail President and Chief Executive Officer John Fenton.
